Dear Benton County Residents,
I am honored to announce my candidacy for Benton County Treasurer. I will be running in the June 2026 primary as a Republican. For more than 26 years, I have proudly served the residents of Benton County in the Treasurer’s Office.
I began my career in 1999 as a Motor Vehicle Clerk and currently serve as the Second Deputy Treasurer. Throughout my years in the office, I have gained valuable knowledge and experience while working closely with the public and my colleagues. I believe the time has come for me to take the next step in my career and continue serving Benton County in this new role.
I believe strong leadership starts with a strong team. As a leader, my goal is to lead by example. I believe in being present, working alongside my team, and supporting them in every way possible rather than simply directing from afar. This approach builds trust, encourages respect, and fosters a positive and productive work environment. Above all, providing excellent customer service to the residents of Benton County will always remain my top priority.
If elected Treasurer, I promise to continue working with the same dedication and work ethic that I have demonstrated for the past 26 years. I will faithfully uphold the responsibilities of the office and carry out the duties required by the State of Iowa with integrity, transparency, and accountability. Throughout my career, I have successfully met every challenge placed before me, and I am committed to continuing that tradition as your Treasurer.
I would be honored to earn your support and your vote for Benton County Treasurer on June 2, 2026.
Sincerely,
Joy Wieditz

MR March 11, 2026, 6:18 pm Would be nice if Treasurers office did transactions after 4 and would also be nice to NOT have to make an appointment to renew drivers license. Should be able to walk in and get taken care of.
