The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Seeman, Tippett and Volz present. Chairman Seeman called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. at the Benton County Service Center. Members of the public are invited to join in during open session or watch the livestream at https://www.youtube.com/bentoncountyiowa. Full Resolutions will be available in the Auditor’s office and at: www.bentoncountyia.gov
Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To approve the Agenda. All members voting aye. Motion carried.
Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To enter closed session per Iowa Code 21.5(1)c: To discuss strategy with counsel in matters that are presently in litigation or where litigation is imminent where its disclosure would be likely to prejudice or disadvantage the position of the governmental body in that litigation. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried at 9:01 a.m.
Volz moved/Tippett seconded: To exit closed session at 9:43 a.m. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.
Tippett moved/Volz seconded: To grant authority to the Board Chairman Seeman to work with legal counsel in negotiating settlement with present matters. Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye. Motion carried.
Attorney Ray Lough inquired about having a budget work session in the near future. The board agreed to do this Monday November 10, 2025 after their regular meeting that morning. With Veteran’s day being holiday on Tuesday, Auditor Rippel reminded the Board they will also have to meet on Wednesday the 12th, to canvass the first tier of the City/School Election.
Volz moved/Tippett seconded: To adjourn meeting at 9:50 a.m. Volz, Seeman and Tippett voting aye. Motion carried.
