Vinton-Shellsburg Community Schools

May 17, 2021

Call to Order

President Levis called the regular meeting to order at 5:02 p.m. in the Central Office Board Room.

Roll Call / Pledge of Allegiance

Rob Levis, Sue Gates, Kathy Van Steenhuyse, Jake Fish, Mike Timmermans, Tom Burke on-line,

Becky Williams, Kyle Koeppen, Superintendent, and Brenda Barkdoll, Board Secretary/Treasurer were

Present.

Receive Visitors/Public Comments

The public made comments to keep current policy in place for the rest of school year, and then maybe look at the science and make new recommendations for the next year. The public were also concerned that they do not know who is or is not vaccinated and would like to continue wearing masks until the end of year.

Iowa Department of Health COVID Recommendations

1069. It was moved by Burke and seconded by Gates to keep current policy in place while school is in session until May 28th, and all after hours school events mask optional per CDC guidance for vaccinated versus unvaccinated individuals. Motion carried 7/0.

Adjournment

President Levis adjourned the meeting at 5:41 p.m.
