Government : A Federal Declaration for Public Assistance for Government Entities

Declared on Monday, August 17, a Federal Declaration for Public Assistance affecting government was announced. The declaration will help with emergency protective measures, debris removal, and damage to public infrastructure and or buildings.

This declaration covers all of the following counties:

Benton, Boone, Cedar, Clinton, Dallas, Jasper, Johnson, Jones, Linn, Marshall, Muscatine, Polk, Poweshiek, Scott, Story, and Tama Counties.

HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM (Assistance for actions taken to prevent or reduce long term risk to life and property from natural hazards):

All areas in the State of Iowa are eligible for assistance under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.

OTHER: Additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.
