The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Primmer, Bierschenk and Seeman present. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Members of the public were provided the zoom access capability to join in during open session and watch live at the county's YouTube channel. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously. Summarized Resolutions will be available in the Auditor's office and at: www.bentoncountyiowa.org

​Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To approve the minutes of Tuesday July 14, 2020. Motion carried.

​Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve 14 hours of vacation carry over for Toni Parizek. Motion carried.

​Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve Resolution #20-50, Variance to Sub-Division for Chris and Julie Frimml in SE SE of 10-83-10. Motion carried.

The time of 9:15 a.m. having arrived, and this being the time and date for a land use hearing for Andy Rabe in part of SE ¼ SW ¼ of 35-82-11. Marc Greenlee presented the technical information with the Benton County Agricultural Land Use Preservation Ordinance. Rabe would like to propose a change onthe use of 2 acres to build a new home. The parent parcel is 40 acres owned by big toy Storage, LLC. The land under review has been pasture with a CSR of 28. The driveway has already been done by easement and meets all requirements. This will need a new septic, but has rural water available. Proper notices were were mailed and published in the newspaper with no responses. This proposed use is compliance. Hearing no other further comments, the public hearing was closed.

​Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve lawenforcement contract with City of Norway not to exceed 520 hours a year and $13,000 to be paid quarterly. Motion carried.

Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To approve General Assistant's Quarterly Report ending June 30, 2020. Motion carried.

Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To approve the WMA Change orders for Bid Packet 3 and 3A. Motion carried.

​Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To set public hearing date for status of funded activities for the WMA for August 4, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. Motion carried.

Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: Approve payroll checks numbered 141370 through 141382, ACH deposits numbered 42393 through 42540, vendor checks 235820 through 235967, claims numbered 235968 through 235975. Motion carried.

Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To appoint Kimberly Rayman as medical examiner investigator. Motion carried.

Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve purchase agreement for temporary and permanent easement for bridge replacement project #BROS-CHBP-CO06(116)-GA-06 from Glen Van Wechel Family Trust in the amount of $888.00 for .43 Acres. Motion carried.

Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve purchase agreement for bridge replacement project #BROS-CHBP-CO06(117)-NC-06 with Scott and Jill Deklotz for .10 Acres for $80.00. Motion carried.
