Just when you think you can't take any more weird events this year, apparently now we have to watch our mail.

Seed packets from China have begun to arrive in mailboxes across the country. No one has given a reason for them or has a clue about why we are receiving them.

The Iowa Department of Agriculture has put out a statement to Iowans which says, "We are aware that people in Iowa and other states have received unsolicited packages of seed from China and other countries. We are waiting on guidance from USDA and then we'll issue more information. If you receive a package in the meantime, please do not open the seed packet, plant the seed, or destroy the seed. We hope to receive more information about how to report and properly dispose of the seed later today."
