The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in special session at 6:00 p.m. at the Farm Bureau Office Building in Vinton. Supervisor Primmer called the meeting to order with Supervisor's Primmer and Seeman present. Bierschenk arrived later.
Discussion was held on the FY21 county budget. The dirt road known as 61st Street south of Vinton was a big topic. Wayne Siela brought up the concern with ag traffic traveling through town on C Ave and 13th Street. Siela would like to see something done that could detour all the ag traffic and make it safer near the schools and avoid all those traffic stops. He would like support from the Supervisors, Farm Bureau members and also the City of Vinton. Infrastructure improvements in this area would be good timing if this could be combined with the new sub-division development south of town.
Further budget topics ranged from additional road discussions, watershed management, mental health and other issues. Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To adjourn at 7:40 p.m. Motion carried.
