Events and Activities : SACG to host Annual Golf Tournament and Fundraiser

The Shellsburg Area Community Group (SACG) will be hosting their 8th Annual Golf Tournament and Fundraiser at Wildcat Golf Course in Shellsburg on Saturday, June 22nd. There will be a 9:00am shot gun start for this 4 person best shot tournament. Fee of $200 per team covers green fees, cart, and meal. Cash prizes will be awarded and there will be raffle and silent auction items. Sign up by calling Wildcat Golf Course at 319-436-4653. Please pay by cash or checks on day of tournament.

Not a golfer? Come to Wildcat that day to support the event by purchasing raffle tickets and bid on silent auction prizes. The raffle is for cash prizes of $300, $200 and $100 and you don’t need to be present to win silent auction prizes or the raffle!

Last year’s proceeds were used to replace the undesirable sand under the park play equipment with a wood mulch product using volunteer labor as well as a $2,000 contribution to the Shellsburg Recreation Department for needed repairs at the ball diamonds where they hold their summer ball leagues. All proceeds will go toward community improvement projects, with some being used in 2019 for replacement of a bridge leading from the Shellsburg elementary school to the restored prairie on the school grounds.
