The Center Point Friends of the Library made over $1000 at its August used book sale and silent auction. The group will talk over how to build on that success and will elect officers at its annual meeting Thurs. Sept. 6 at 6:30 in the Library basement. Details will be decided for the next event, a quilt show and quilt book sale on Saturday, Oct. 20.

Friends meetings are friendly meetings open to the public and everyone is welcome. Meetings are the first Thursday of the month. Dues are $10.

Book lovers, Library lovers and Friends members who helped with the Book Sale Aug. 4 through 11, were: Sue Margretz, Kathy Rogers, Shari Kummerfeldt , T.J. Kummerfeldt, Becca Kummerfeldt, Vicki Thompson, Christina Lahr, Roberta Gilchrist, Marj Pepin, Stan and Donna Hepker, Dorothea Wood, Jess Toomsen, Janine Walters, Sarah Rieck, and Sharon Hannen. The Library staff was also helpful throughout the entire book sale, silent auction and aftermath.

Businesses and individuals who donated items for the silent auction were: Donna Cobley, Black Magic Performance- Kevin Knapp, Center Point Foods, Corner Store, Gina Hamilton, Christina Lahr, Heidi McGonegle, Jennifer Burkhart, Julie Hakert, Karissa Brinks, Tracy Weaver, and Whispering Peace.
