Kirkwood Community College will award two full-tuition scholarships to eligible high school seniors during its upcoming Crowd the Court Campus Visit Day, this Saturday, Feb. 14. The event will offer prospective students both an exciting campus experience and added value as they plan for college.
Students who attend the afternoon basketball games will be entered into drawings for scholarships covering up to 15 credits per semester for one academic year. Winners will be selected at halftime of each game and must be present to win.
“Crowd the Court provides prospective students and families an engaging introduction to Kirkwood, while also highlighting the financial support available through scholarships,” said Kirkwood Director of Admissions Nick Kettmann. “We are excited to welcome students to campus and offer an opportunity that can make a high-quality Kirkwood education even more accessible and affordable.”
Crowd the Court is designed for high school juniors and seniors and their families. The morning Campus Visit Day experience will include an informational session, academic program breakouts, a campus tour and a question-and-answer session with current students and staff. Lunch will be provided, along with optional residence apartment open houses, giving students a valuable look at campus life and the resources available to support their success.
The afternoon portion of the event will take place in Johnson Hall as Kirkwood’s basketball teams host Northeast Community College. The women’s game begins at 1 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 3 p.m. High school juniors attending the event will also be eligible to win tech gear from the EagleShop, Kirkwood’s Apple Authorized Campus Store.
