Meeting will feature information on college's Agricultural Sciences programs
Kirkwood Community College will host the next meeting of its Benton County Leadership Council on Monday, Oct. 13, from 1–2:30 p.m. at the Kirkwood's Benton County Center in Vinton. College representatives, local leaders and community members are all expected to attend.
This will be the second gathering of the council this year, which was created to further connect Kirkwood with the communities it serves. The meetings focus on how the college’s resources benefit the region and how new opportunities can be developed to meet local needs.
The upcoming meeting will spotlight Kirkwood’s Agricultural Sciences department–recognized widely as one of the leading two-year Ag programs in the country. Attendees will hear about the different programs available, learn about recent developments within the department, and how it supports students, employers, and the agricultural community.
Kirkwood Benton County Center Director Kasey Keeling noted that the upcoming event is designed to give the people of Benton County a clear picture of how the college supports their area.
“This meeting will give people a glimpse into the bigger picture of what Kirkwood is doing,” said Keeling. “We’ll share updates from across the college, highlight news from Benton County and put a spotlight on the incredible work happening in our Agricultural Sciences programs. Just as important, it’s a time for residents to engage with us—whether that means learning about local opportunities or sharing ideas that can help guide our future. We hope community members will come out, be part of the dialogue and help shape the path forward for higher education and opportunities in Benton County.”
The Benton County Leadership Council meets twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring.
