  It is that time again the Benton County Fair open class Flower Show! I've ordered cooler weather! Everyone received a fair book containing the open class departments in the mail the end of June.

That’s right, Mary Ingalls, sister to Laura Ingalls Wilder, famed author of the Little House books, is on the list of attendees for the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School reunion.

VPRD Cardboard Boat Race set for July 28

  On Saturday, July 28th, VPRD will be hosting its Cardboard Boat Races at the Vinton Community Swimming Pool. Boats must be made entirely out of cardboard and duct tape and is eligible to compete in one of the following race categories: 13 & Under (single-person boat), 14 & up (single person boat), and the Doubles Competition (two person boat - all ages welcome!).
