'Cruisin' Through the Decades:' VSMS plans concert with songs from 50's to 2014

Tuesday, March 18th marks the date of the “Cruisin’ Through the Decades”, Middle School Vocal Concert.    This program will be presented by the Vinton-Shellsburg 7th and 8th Grade Choirs and Show Choir.

Voyagers (and Alumni) to perform at Spring Show tonight

The V-S Voyager Dance Team will be holding their annual Spring Show tonight, Friday February 28, at 7 p.m. at the V-S Middle School Gym. Admission is $5; doors open at 6:30 pm.

Kiwanis plan Pancake Day this Saturday March 1

The annual Vinton Kiwanis Club Pancake Day will take place Saturday March 1, at the Vinton Skate Center.  Money raised goes towards college scholarships and youth based projects in our community.

Genealogy Workshop offered advice, helped raise funds for CP library project

A computer lab full of people (18) attended the Friends of the Center Point Library genealogy workshop Saturday, Feb. 22, at the new High School. The fund raiser for the Public Library was also made possible by CPU Schools, the Washington Township Trustees and by volunteer instructors Bob King, Center Point, and Linda Joy Schmidt, Cedar Rapids.

Bereavement support group to meet March 6

The bereavement support group, "Meet and Eat", will meet Thursday March 6 at noon at the Pizza Ranch in Vinton.  Anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one is invited.
