VS Band Soup Supper set for this Friday, Jan. 23

Come out and support the VS Band program and boys basketball teams this Friday, Jan. 23 and VSHS High School.  The band will be hosting their annual Soup Supper while the basketball teams compete against Clear Creek Amana.

First VU After 5 of 2015 set for Iowa Braille School Tonight

After Hours events are back for 2015 and we are going to kick off the fun at the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School!  There are some really cool things going on at the historic landmark in Vinton that the Mary Ingalls Society would love to share with you! Please park on the circle drive at the front on the building and enter through the main door.

CP Library Friends regroup after being frozen out; plan tea party

The regular meeting of the Center Point Friends of the Library was called off because of wind chill January 8 and the group enjoyed the warm hospitality of the Center Point Pizza Place for a morning make up meeting January 12, 2015.

FOTSI to host Microchip event January 24th

Friends of the Shelter is hosting a microchip clinic Saturday, January 24   Time: 11am-3pm Where: FOTSI Adoption Center; 211 West 4th Street, Vinton Cost: $20/cat and $25/dog   Each microchip includes free registration into the 24PetWatch national database and will be registered on-site.

FFA Veterans Benefit Pancake Breakfast set for Jan 31, at VSHS

On January 31st, 2015 the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter will be hosting a Veterans Benefit Pancake Breakfast, to support local Veterans.         The breakfast will be held at the Vinton-Shellsburg High School cafeteria at 7 am till 11 am.

4-H Safety Education and Shooting Sports will be having an organizational meeting at the Linn County Extension and Outreach office, 383 Collins Rd.
