The Vinton-Shellsburg Education Association will honor the district's retirees and present award during its annual reception on Wednesday, May 11.

It's that time of the year for the Vinton Garden Club annual plant sale scheduled for Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Benton County Fairgrounds in the open class building.

Vinton Today has learned that the 5th Annual Flaughless 5K, in honor of VS alum Dan Flaugh, will be the last one. Organizer Georgia Meeker Sysouchanh sent out the following announcment this morning: After careful thought and consideration, I’ve decided this year’s race on Saturday, October 15, 2016 will be the last race.

P.E.O. Chapter HG will meet Monday night, April 25th at the home of Kathie Ervin at 7:30 P.M..  The program will be given by Pat Beatty.

  Wednesday, May 4th 5 to 7pm or until gone   Bethlehem Lutheran Church 1206 C Avenue, Vinton   free will offering   Dinner includes: Pasta with marinara or alfredo sauce Garlic Bread Homemade salads and desserts All proceeds will go to purchase meals for Vinton Feeds the World food packaging event to be held on September 11th.

Bring the women in your life and join us for a 4 course plated meal reminiscent of an English High Tea.
