Party in thd Park begins tonight! Weather forecasters say there is no rain in the forecast for Thursday, although Friday and Saturday each have a chance of scattered precipitation

Activities begin at 5 p.m with the free supper at the Farmers Savings Bank & Trust-Vinton parking lot. The Kiddie Parade participants also gather there for the annual ride/walk to the courthouse, which begins at 6:30 p.m.

7:45 pm Upstage: Originally formed in the Cedar Rapids area in 1979 and featuring Vinton resident, Lori Ferguson, this band has played on and off through the years, all throughout Eastern Iowa. They have often called themselves an '80s band, but have been in demand because of the variety of music they played. After reuniting for last year's Vinton RAGBRAI stop, it's great to have them back for PIP appearance. Plus: Food Booths, Games, Activities & Rides

NO REGISTRATION FEES! Line up will begin at the Benton County Fairgrounds at 4:30 pm. The parade will start at the Fairgrounds and continue north down 2nd Ave., turn west on 6th, continue three blocks and turn north on B Ave., continue to 4th St. and will turn going east. Parade is held rain or shine.
