The Vinton Garden Club annual plant sale is scheduled for Friday, May 10th, at the Benton County Fairgrounds in the open class building. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The members are busy potting up perennial plants for the public to purchase. President, Fran Stueck said, “I would buy plants from someone locally that has been growing them in their garden, because you know they are hardy in this area.” At a greenhouse some aren't hardy for zone 4-5 and may only make it one year in your garden. There will be a large selection for you to choose from at the sale such as gas plant, fern leaf and old fashioned fern leaf peony, monarda, day liliessss, hostas, geraniums, liatris, asters, mums, lily of the valley, iris, anenome, phlox, asiatic and oriental lilies, coral bells, ornamental grasses, and many more perennials. Buy your Mother's Day bakery at the bake sale, pies, rolls, bread, cakes and more
Come check out the plant and bake sale selections, the prices are reasonable.
Hope to see you there. If you have any garden related questions bring them and we''ll try and answer them for you.
If you have any questions please call Fran Stueck 319-472-3032.
