Above the Influence Meeting Minutes

May 20th, 2010 12-1 p.m. @ ISU Extension office, Vinton

Welcome! Members present- Jim Thompson, Vicki Clair, Kelsey Kimm, Marissa Eldred, Tammy Morrison, Elysia Cain, Jacki Luckstead, Elise Healzer, Nathan Hesson, Greg Walston, Heidi Schminke, Ryan Davis

Alcohol 101 Survey- Members were asked to take a brief survey about the alcohol knowledge. The information we collect from adults in Benton County will be used for a parent social marketing campaign later this year.

Name Change- Just a reminder that Jenn’s name is changing in June. If you begin to receive e-mails from Jenn Draper, don’t delete them! My new e-mail address will be jdraper@asac.us.

Logo- we passed around designs created by Vinton-Shellsburg HS students for potential logos, and came up with several. Jenn is e-mailing the graphic design teacher to see if we can get an electronic copy of any of them so that we can edit them and make changes as necessary.

Reflect on 2009-2010 and plan for 2010-2011- We discussed all that we had done in the first year of the coalition by month, and began to pass around sign up sheets for people to express interest in different committees (like the Back-To-School committee, Alcohol Awareness Month, Red Ribbon Week, etc). Jenn will oversee the committees and help guide the process, but the committees will allow people to focus on specific projects that interest them.

Summer Youth Summit- Just a reminder that the Youth Summit is happening this July 22nd and 23rd. If you are interested in being a part of the planning committee, please come to the next meeting on June 15th, at 9 a.m. at the Vinton ASAC office.

SHORT Evaluation- The end of the year means review time, and I’d like some input on how things are going with the coalition. Please take the survey located here: http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22AQGZZRLLA
