VINTON
Memorial Day ceremonies for American Legion Post 57, will be this Monday, 8:00 am at Maplewood Cemetery, 8:15 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, and 8:30am at Evergreen Cemetery. Beginning at 10:00 am the march to the river bridge and at 11:00 am program at the new Veteran's Park by the Parks and Recreaction Center and Cedar River.
Memorial Day Activities Throughout the County: Bear Creek Church will host an open house this weekend on Saturday May 29th and Sunday May 30th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A military service will be held at the cemetery on Monday May 31st at 9 a.m. Roger Uthoff will be speaking. A breakfast is held from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., proceeds will go toward church restoration and maintenance. Keystone: Activities will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday with a parade down Main Street of Keystone. Services will follow at the Keystone and Holy Cross Cemeteries. Guest Speaker will be State Senator Tim Kapucian. In case of rain, services will be held at the Merkel-Bockhold Legion Post. Mt. Auburn: Mt Auburn American Legion andAuxiliary will have a program at 11 a.m. Monday May 31st at the United Methodist church in Mt. Auburn. The speaker will be Richard Farmer, Vinton. A short service at the cemetery will begin at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at the church following the program. Urbana: Following Memorial day services at urbana area cemeteries, the Urbana Lions Club and Urbana American Legion will host the annual Memorial day Ham dinner at Don Bosco Hall, St. Maryís Catholic Church, Urbana. Meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Walker: The Avenue of the Flags will be displayed at the Walker Public Cemetery and Savred Heart Cemetery, May 29-31. Monday the parade will leave for the Walker Public Cemetery at 8:30 a.m. and the service will begin at 8:45 a.m. The service at Sacred Heart Cemetery will be at 9:30 a.m. In case of rain, services will be held at the North Linn Walker Center on Ely Street at 9 a.m. There will be an omelet brunch at the Legion hall.
