Events and Activities : Area farms to be included in Extension Dairy tours

ISU Extension & Outreach Dairy Team have organized parlor tours this summer to give producers and agri-businesses who serve the dairy industry insight into how different parlor systems can be built to meet the operation’s goals in herd management and their building/remodeling budget. This year will feature recent installations for low cost parlor systems and automatic milking systems.

Area tours include two local events on Tuesday, July 31. A milking system tour at the Schanbacher farm near Newhall, at 2524 70th Street, begins at 9:30 a.m. A low-cost tour at the Schanbacher farm at 6975 32nd Avenue near Atkins starts at 11:15.
