The Benton County Above the Influence Coalition will be sponsoring a Community Conference on Youth Substance Abuse in Vinton, IA on April 12, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church (516 2nd Ave.)
The event will feature half-hour sessions on prescription drug abuse (hosted by professors from the University of Iowa School of Pharmacy), information on new products from tobacco companies, a session on policy development to prevent underage drinking, and lastly a panel of youth to answer questions about substance use in Benton County. The event will also award CEUs to participants (.2 Nursing, 2.0 Substance Abuse, and 2.0 Social Work).
