Events and Activities : “Rock It Back to the 80s” with Boomtown this Saturday, August 24

**Make a Day of It in Vinton, Iowa!**

Enjoy a fun-filled day with live music, arts & crafts, free axe throwing, pedal cars, Civil War reenactors, great food, and the best fireworks in the Midwest!

**8 AM**: Kiwanis "Bring the Noise" 5K (111 E. 4th St). Registration: 7-8 AM. Cost: $20/person, $50/family.
**9 AM - 2 PM**: Boom-Fest Arts & Craft Festival (111 E. 4th St). 80+ vendors, FREE rides, games, and live music.
**10 AM - 4 PM**: Civil War Re-enactors at the Vinton train depot (612 2nd Ave). Scrimmages and demos.
**4 PM**: Gates open at Benton County Fairgrounds for Boomtown (1801 2nd St). Parking: $20/car, grandstand seating: $15, lawn seating: FREE.
**6 PM**: Free concert by The Schmidt Brothers (1801 2nd St).
**Dusk**: Best Fireworks in the Midwest! (1801 2nd St).
**After Fireworks**: The Schmidt Brothers return to the stage!
Bring the whole family and spend the day in Vinton!
Foods available will include offerings from the AmVets and Smoken' on the Cedar, Asian foods, kettle corn, ice cream and funnel cakes and more!
