Events and Activities : Tree planting scheduled Friday to honor AmeriCorps NCCC Community Event Day

AmeriCorps NCCC is having a Community event day with the Vinton Parks and Recreation Department on Friday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Celebration Park located at 1st Avenue and West 2nd St., next to the Cedar River Bridge.

Visitors to the Community Day will have the opportunity to help plant one of thirty trees with AmeriCorps NCCC members. This is the start of the revitalizing a plot of land that was destroyed by the flood in 2008. Come out and spend time getting to know the AmeriCorps NCCC team in your town and the VPRD.
