The Vinton Country Club
Over the past 11 years the Murphy Memorial has been able to generously contribute over $126,000 to various charities. Donations have been awarded to the Virginia Gay Healthcare Foundation, the Make a Wish Foundation, CaringBridge.com, Minnesota Hospice Organization, Hospice of Mercy, Gems of Hope, Virginia Gay Hospital Charity Care, and St. Luke’s Hospice, primarily assisting in the effort to help families facing the battle against cancer. This year we plan to give to the Virginia Gay Healthcare Foundation, VGH Charity Care, Gems of Hope, St. Luke’s Hospice and CaringBridge.com.
If you would like to participate, the traditional shotgun-start golf scramble will have two tee times, 8:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. You may sign up for one or both. Lunch will be served from 11:30 – 1:30. There is room for 18, four-person teams at each starting time. Join us in laughter and play as we celebrate the bonds of friendship and family that unite us in the battle against cancer. Invite your friends, co-workers and neighbors to join in the “Murphy Experience” – all golfers and wannabe golfers are welcome!
Cost is $50.00 per person, which is fully tax-deductible and includes 9 or 18 holes of golf – whichever you choose, lunch, ½ dozen golf balls, and a coozie. There will also be a number of valuable prizes in the clubhouse which you can purchase raffle tickets for.
If you’d like more information or need an entry form please contact Mike Timmermans at the VGH Foundation, 319-472-6375 or call Rick Murphy at 319-472-4397.
