Events and Activities : Hannen Lake Park to host Chili Cook Off October 1

The Hannen Lake Park chili cook-off will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, at White Oak Shelter, Hannen Lake Park, 1949 Benton Iowa Road, Blairstown.

Chili cook-off registration will be from 11:30 a.m. to noon, with judging held at 2 p.m. Entry fee is $20 per recipe; limit one entry per person. Grand prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places and include two weeks of camping, a Hannen Lake Cedar Cabin weekend getaway and one weekend of camping.

Those who don't want to compete in the contest are invited to enjoy the chili and live music provided by Scott, Annette and George from noon to 3 p.m. for a freewill donation.

A raffle for a Yeti cooler will be held with raffle tickets available that day, cash only, need not be present to win.
