Events and Activities : Civil War Re-enactors at the Train Depot Saturday-Sunday August 27-28

Civil War Re-Enactors will be at the Vinton Train Depot this weekend during the Boomtown events Saturday-Sunday August 28-29.

Saturday

10:00 a.m. Drill & Musket Demonstration/Kid Drill

10:30 a.m. Cannon Drill

11:00 a.m. Interaction downtown at Boomfest

1:30 p.m. Skirmish

2:00 p.m. Medical Demo

3:00 p.m. Mortar or Cannon Demo

4:00 p.m. Moonlight Tour of Camp

Sunday

11:00 a.m. Drill & Musket Demo and/or kid demo

12:00 p.m. Cannon Demo

1:30 p.m. Skirmish followed by Musket Fire

(If there are any local residents who would like to fall in with us, you are welcome to. You need to check in and show up at least an hour before. Wear the most faded blue jeans or brown long pants, long sleeved shirts and brown or black leather shoes or boots. Shorts and athletic shoes just don't blend in.)

2:00 p.m. Medical Demo

2:30 p.m. Cannon Demo

Come on out and watch the action. There will be old fashioned root beer for sale on site.

There will also be a variety of displays, and presentations and you may even get a chance to fire a black powder rifle!
