Events and Activities : 13th Annual Veterans Benefit Ride June 4th, 2022

Sponsored by The American Legion Riders, Chapter 166 Shellsburg, Iowa

We firmly believe there should be no veteran left behind and are committed to supporting American Veterans and their families. Making this dream a reality is a daunting task, but it is also one that is near to our hearts, as many of our members and family members are Veterans. We are comprised of motorcycle enthusiasts, who are also proud members of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary, and The Sons of The American Legion.

From the donations we received in 2021, our Chapter presented checks in the amount of $300.00 each to the four local Benton County Food Banks, $1,200 to sponsor a horse in the Miracles in Motion Veteran's Equine Program. We have ordered and purchased a bench for The Iowa Veterans Home. Due to COVID restrictions, our Chapter has not been able to deliver and present it to them as of this time. We also contribute to many other events to assist veterans and their families.

We are continually amazed at the community support given to our veterans. The feeling we get when we can help put food on someone's table, allow them safe transportation to the doctor or make Veterans Home residents smile, can be difficult to put into words.

This ride allows us to raise funds and make their lives a bit easier. I know many businesses are frequently asked for donations and with the economic struggles increasing, we appreciate everything our donors are able to do.

We are a #501c3 organization. Receipts will be sent upon request.

Our Nations veterans are worth every second, every inch and every penny.

Although monetary donations are always welcome, we also accept merchandise, hotel stays, event tickets and certificates for complimentary services. It is all genuinely appreciated.

To those of you that have donated to previous events, you have our deepest gratitude and appreciation.
