Events and Activities : Eco-Extravaganza: Feelin' the heat with BCCC

On Saturday, April 23 from 11-2 p.m. Benton County Conservation will host Smokey the Bear at the Benton County Nature Center located at 5718 20th Ave. Drive, Vinton.

Smokey Bear will be there, will you? Come learn about prairies, fire safety, play games, make crafts and more!

This event is free and suitable for the whole family.

Come hungry! The VFW Post 8884 will have food for sale and volunteers will be selling baked goods. Proceeds go to Hoefle-Dulin Shoreline Project.

Are you curious about how to manage your prairie with fire? There will be a demonstration of a prescribed burn at 1:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Local firefighters will be present.
