NEXT Sunday, February 27th, from Noon to 3pm, the Kirkwood Linn County Regional Center will be hosting Z102.9's Gown Town!

That afternoon, Z102.9 will open a 100% FREE, no-questions-asked Prom Shop inside Kirkwood Linn County Regional Center, 1770 Boyson Road, Hiawatha, Iowa. All dresses, shoes, jewelry and accessories will be distributed free of charge to high school girls in need of a dress for prom. All items have been donated by the wonderful Z102.9 listeners and are the reason we are able to put on this event each year!

"It's been a tough couple of years for proms between a pandemic and a derecho, but prom still remains an important rite of passage for young people," says Clare Duffy, co-host of the Morning Scramble morning show. "Z102.9 is happy to be a conduit in this community; bringing together the people who no longer need a dress with those who could really use a free dress," continues Duffy. "I'm always inspired by how the power of radio can help our community!"

Now through COB on Thursday, February 24th, Z102.9 will continue to accept new and gently used formal dresses in all sizes, dress shoes, jewelry and accessories. Donations may be dropped off at Citywide Cleaners; 838 1st Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Herteen & Stocker Jewelers, 101 S. Dubuque Street, Iowa City, Iowa and the Kirkwood Linn County Regional Center, 1770 Boyson Road, Hiawatha, Iowa.
