Events and Activities : Vinton Parks and Rec to hold Fall Festival during the month of October

The 2021 Fall Festival will kick off on October 16 with the first Nathan's Miles Glow Fun Run. Check-in and the starting line begin at Tilford Elementary. To register, click here!

Check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. The Kid Race will begin at 6:30 p.m. for ages 11 and younger. The Adults will take off at 7:30 p.m.

Food trucks, live music, and a ton of glow stuff!

The cost for the race is $25 for adults and Kids are FREE!

The week of October 22-30 there will be a Scarecrow Contest where Vinton Businesses will show off their creativity by making scarecrows. The community will get to vote on which scarecrow is the best. Voting will be held from October 22-30.

(If you are a business and would like to participate, please call us at 472-4164 to register. A base scarecrow will be provided. Deadline to register: October 20. Prizes for FIRST PLACE!)

To vote, check on our website, Facebook page or the Rec Center on October 22 for voting ballots!

Fall Fest Tailgate and Cornhole Throwdown will be held on October 23. Get your team together and join us for our Fall Fest tailgate and cornhole tournament! The event will be held at Celebration Park with check-in at 10:00 a.m. and the tournament will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Enjoy some free food and cornhole tournament while watching some of the days best football games on multiple televisions. Alcohol is permitted in parks, but must be in cans.

Games are 2 vs. 2, to 21

There is no charge to participate in this event thanks to Cedar Valley Bank & Trust!

October 30 is the Spooktacular Saturday. Head downtown for pumpkin decorating, Halloween games and a costume parade around the Vinton downtown businesses! The carnival begins at 10:00 a.m. and the parade at 11:00 a.m. and is for children in 5th Grade and younger.

From 7-9:00 p.m. there will be an Open Skate Costume Party and Ghostly Glow Mini Golf.

Anyone who wears a Halloween costume (more than just a mask) will get a $1 skate admission and will be entered in our Halloween costume contest! And if you think putting is tough during the daytime, just think how hard it will be in the dark with ghosts & goblins in the mix!

FEE: skate-$5.00/skater ($1.00 off if wearing a costume)

Mini golf-$2.00/round

November 6 Grab some handmade crafts and some homemade baked goods at the Fall Craft and Bake Sale. This event will be held at the Skate and Activity Center from 8:00 a.m until 1:00 p.m.

Vendors need to contact the VPRD office for registration materials. No admission charge, but a vendor fee does apply. The Vendor Registration form is located here.

The Fall Fest Finale will be held at Celebration Park from 5-8:00 p.m. Enjoy the crisp fall air and all of the Fall Fest Finale fun.
