Preventing injuries in youth is the aim of the annual Progressive Agriculture Safety Day Camp in Benton County. This free event will feature 10 safety stations. All 3rd through 6th graders in Benton and Linn County are invited to attend Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Benton County Fairgrounds from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Pre-registration is required by Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
With the highest rate of farm injuries occurring in children ages 5 - 14, the event addresses issues relevant to farm environments. However, all children are invited to participate. The topics covered include ATV Safety, First Aid, Combine Safety, Lawn Mower Safety, 911 Emergency, Grain Safety, Pinch Point/PTO Safety, Chemical Safety, Sun Safety and Accident Survivor.
In addition to hands-on safety activities, each child attending will receive a snack, lunch, T-SHIRT and educational materials FREE of charge. Adults are welcome to attend with their child.
