Events and Activities : Traveling Vietnam Wall will stop in Solon

The moving Vietnam Memorial Wall will be making a stop in Solon August 12-16th. Area Veteran Ed Scheffer will be reading the names of all of the Benton County veterans listed on the wall, on Monday the 16th at a ceremony which will begin at 10:00 am. Another ceremony as part of the Solon Legion's 100 Birthday will be on Saturday, August 14th, at 10:00 a.m. The Solon Legion is located at 222 East Main St. in Solon.

The Solon American Legion as part of the recognition of their 100th year, brought the moving wall to their post in Solon. The wall will be escorted from Coralville to Solon on August 12th beginning at 8:00 a.m. Viewing of the wall in Solon will begin at 12:00 p.m. on August 12th and will be available through the 16th at 1:00 p.m.
