Vinton Parks and Recreation will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Nathan's Miles Glow Trail on Thursday evening, May 27th at 9:30 p.m. on the corner of the Vinton-Shellsburg High School.

The trail is named in honor of Vinton's City Council Member Nathan Hesson who passed away in January of this year. The City Council agreed with the suggestion of the Executive Board and the VPRD Board in the naming of the new walking trail in honor of Hesson.

Matt Boggess of Vinton Parks and Rec said of Nathan that he was one of the biggest supporters of the trail project along with his wife Ashley. The trail goes past the Hesson home and the family will be able to enjoy using it and enjoy watching those that are enjoying it.
