The Benton County Conservation is buzzing with activities this fall and winter. Their Calendar of Events for the Fall of 2020 includes events for all ages. Due to health concerns, masks will be required at all Benton County Conservation programs. If you are feeling ill, having symptoms, or have a fever please stay home.

Saturday, December 5th, 8:30 am-11:30 am.

Peppermint Twist Basket Class -Learn to make one or both of these holiday-themed baskets.

Peppermint Twist Basket $19, Measures: 4"x 3"x 4.5"; red and natural.

Snowmen will also be available to weave $14 Measures: varies in size; natural; add decorations. Limit: 6 participants RSVP by calling 319-472-4942 or by emailing us at info@bentoncountyparks.com

Bring with you: face covering, beverage, and snacks for yourself (no potluck or lunch provided).

Thursday, December 10th, 6 pm-7:30 pm.

Grapevine Wreath Making- What could be more festive than a homemade wreath. Learn how to make a grapevine wreath and decorate it yourself. We will have some stuff to decorate your wreath with and if you want to bring your own ribbon and decorations you are welcome to attach them. Space is limited and face coverings will be required. Wednesday, December 16th, 6 pm-7:30 pm.

Woodburning Coasters and Ornaments- Join our naturalist and learn about the exciting art form of pyrography. All participants will make their own coasters or ornaments. Choose from various patterns or create your own masterpiece. Space is limited and face coverings are required. Call (319)472-4942 to register, cost is $5 per person. More ornaments or coasters can be purchased for an additional fee.

Friday, January 15th, 1 pm-3 pm.

Snowshoeing at the Nature Center - Weather permitting we will have snowshoes available at the Nature Center. Call to reserve a pair as we have limited sizes. This program for 4th graders on up. Face coverings will be required. Call (319)472- 4942 to register, this is a free program. Thursday,

January 28th, 5:30-7:00 pm.

Full Moon Snowshoe Hike - Weather permitting join our naturalists for a moonlit hike around the Nature Center. Call to reserve a pair of snowshoes as we have limited sizes.
