The Friends of the Center Point Library met in masked-person Aug. 19 after about six months of COVID cancellation of activities and meetings.
The Andersen Public Library opened carefully in July for masked, limited hours (M-W-Th 4 to 8 p.m. and T-F 8:30 to 12:30 a.m.) and so did the Friends' used book sales room.
Friends officer Ginny Luchauer has been keeping the salesroom stocked and organized. Hardcover books are $1, paperbacks 50 cents, and kids' books, 25 cents. There are plenty of audiobooks and movies for $1, too. All proceeds go to Library activities, programs and supplies.
Friends' friendly meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Library. Everyone is welcome to come and bring their masks and good ideas for boosting the Library. (And if you need a mask the Library is handing out hand tie-dyed ones, one to a patron, while supply lasts.)
