Events and Activities : Soon to be mom having drive by baby shower

In a time when social distancing is changing the way we do, well everything, a soon to be mom in the area is asking for a bit of encouragement from the community.

On Sunday, July 13, at 1:00 p.m. soon to be mom Sulea and dad Dustin, will be guests of honor at a drive-by baby shower. The couple is not asking for any gifts, but just some smiles and friendly waves from the community. The couple lives at 906 E 5th St. in Vinton.

The couple met in high school and have been friends since they were in their freshman/junior years. The two just purchased a home here in Vinton and love the community and have heard good reviews about the school. The new little baby girl is scheduled to join the family on August 13 and she will get to meet her big brother Paden who is 6.

Most of the family for the couple live in Cedar Rapids and mom said that with COVID and all of the things going on she's been feeling pretty lonely and closed off and needs some positive vibes at this time.

The couple doesn't need any gifts for the baby, and aren't requesting any, mom just needs some cheering up as she wraps up a difficult pregnancy and would just like to see some smiles.
