Events and Activities : Scoop the Loop on Friday May 1 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

We invite Vinton and the surrounding communities to join us Friday, May 1 from 6:30-7:30 pm to Scoop the Loop!  Everyone MUST stay in their vehicles and we must follow ALL the traffic laws (no riding in the back of pickups, stop at stop signs as it's not a parade).  But the weather is suppose to be great and we're hoping everyone can have their windows down and wave their hearts out to our fellow community members.  Families in cars can dress in themes, cars can be decorated or show signs of support to everyone and you can check out the Just US Facebook page for more information and see some examples.   We'd like to help out the Vinton Food Pantry as well.  We will have donation boxes by the stop sign in front of the Courthouse and non-perishable food items, personal items such as toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, and cleaning supplies can be donated.  We encourage everyone to come out and wave at neighbors and friends as we scoop the loop together.  The route will be as follows and we encourage cars to travel in both directions so you can meet people and wave at them too.  

Down 4th Street (Main Street) to C Ave. Down C Ave to 13th Street past the Lutheran Home and Tilford to 8thAve.  At 4th Street turn to go to 9th Ave and go past the hospital, turn and go past Riverside park and then back down 8th past the swimming pool continuing down 8th until you come back to 4th street.  Again, you can go in either direction and we encourage you to go as many times as you can between 6:30 and 7:30.  

Just US (United Sisters) is organizing the event.  Just US is a group of local business woman who provide leadership, networking, empowerment, growth & support.  Members include Tressa Walton, Erin Monaghan, Jen Miller, Karilea Ries, Emily Henkle, Kim Fischels, & Polly Denison.
