Events and Activities : AmeriCorps NCCC is Getting Ready for “Pack The Dome” on MLK Day

Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service is just around the corner, on January 20, and AmeriCorps NCCC team leaders and others are getting ready to serve at the "Pack The Dome" event in the UNI-Dome. The Northeast Iowa Food Bank is partnering with John Deere, the University of Northern Iowa's Office of Community Engagement, Service and Leadership Council, Panther Pantry, and the Volunteer Center of the Cedar Valley to host the Cedar Valley's largest volunteer event of the year.

AmeriCorps NCCC team leaders and other volunteers are helping to assemble 40,000 Backpacks for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank's BackPack program. These backpacks will go to children throughout the 16 counties the Food Bank serves.
