The City Council was presented with requests from the Sesquicentennial Celebration committee for several events that will be happening in just a few weeks.

On Saturday, August 17, the Grand Parade will line up at the Fairgrounds and the committee asked for the use of 2nd Ave. to 6th Stree to B Ave. to 4th St. for the Grand Parade's travel. The parade is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. To see a map of the route, click here. (the blue line is the parade route)

There will be live music in Celebration Park later that evening, so there was a request to close West 2nd St. from 1st Ave. to A Ave. from 9:00 a.m. to midnight and to close A Ave. from 2nd St. north. also from 9:00 a.m. to midnight.

On Thursday, August 22, the Farmer's Market will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. between West 2nd Street from 1st Ave. to A Ave. the request was made for closure from 4:00-7:30 p.m.

Saturday, August 24, Boomfest will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Closure of 4th St. from B Ave. to 2nd Ave. and 1st Ave. from 3rd St. to 5th St. from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
