Traditional American Legion Auxiliary Poppy Sales begin in Vinton, Iowa on May 16th, 2019.
Sandy Driscol, president of the Vinton American Legion Unit #57, presents the first poppy this year to Ron Albright, the American Legion Post #57 commander. Poppy Day is May 16th at Vinton's local businesses.  The money will be donated to veterans and their needs.  The tradition of poppies began following the First World Wars.
