Farmers put food on our plate, produce fiber, fuel and renewable resources, while protecting our land, air, and water. National Agriculture Week is March 10 - 16, 2019. Ag Week is about recognizing, and celebrating, the contributions of agriculture and the value it plays into maintaining a strong economy.

The Benton County Farm Bureau is celebrating National Ag Week at Fareway in Vinton on Friday March 15. Farm Bureau leaders will be on hand, from noon to 1pm, and again from 5p to 6pm, visiting with shoppers about agriculture. They plan to give away four $50 Fareway gift cards to local shoppers, along with $2 off coupons for grocery purchases. Consumers will be asked fun ag trivia questions to get them to think about how much agriculture touches their everyday lives.

Benton County farmers are blessed with fertile soil and an environment that is ideal for growing crops and raising livestock. We can feel fortunate knowing that our food is being grown and raised by neighbors, farmers whose families have worked the land for generations and have remained committed to producing wholesome food and protecting our natural resources.

Plan to stop by Fareway in Vinton on Friday, at lunchtime, or in the late afternoon, for the opportunity to visit with a local farmer, receive a $2 off coupon, have a chance to win a $50 Fareway gift card, and celebrate National Agriculture Week.
