The Summer Reading Program began Thursday at the Vinton Public Library. There will be daily activities at 10:30 a.m. Mon-Thursday from June 9th until the end of July.
We had a good response to our Legos and have added a lot more to our collection including the Technic legos and are continuing with that as well as having a fun game day with a variety of board games, checkers and others. We are adding coloring to our programming this year and when the weather allows we will be outdoors with our sidewalk chalk.
Our special programming began on June 9th with the Blank Park Zoo bringing in a few animals for the kids to learn about and see up close!
At the end of June on the 30th we welcome our favorite performer Rick Eugene with a magic show that the adults enjoy as much as the children do. To help the elementary students with their AR testing this summer through the school’s program, we have a wide selection of AR books to choose from that they are able to check out from our library and take the AR test at the school.
Our books are all marked and color coded similarly to Tilford’s to make this more convenient for the adults and the children. On rainy days, like on early out days, we can watch movies.
As always, we are a safe place for kids to be this summer and always have fun and educational activities for everyone to enjoy.
