It seems as though we’ve been plagued with an ever-changing movie schedule lately. I’m sorry to report – “Avatar” fell through for the last time. As Tony said – that poster sure had a nice long run. However, apparently it is not in the cards for the James Cameron history-making 3D fantasy epic to play the Palace. “Avatar” will be released on DVD on April 22. In the meantime, Frank the Booker scored big for us with “How to Train Your Dragon,” opening this Friday nationwide AND at the Palace Theatre. “Dragon” will run for two weeks, Friday, March 26 through Thursday, April 8 at 7 p.m. nightly, and Saturdays and Mondays and 2 p.m. Dreamworks, who brought you “Shrek” and “Madagascar,” gets an early start on the upcoming run of summer animated blockbusters with “How to Train Your Dragon.” This PG-rated adventure tells the story of Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel), a scrawny wannabe Viking, who works as a trainee blacksmith while his Viking father and leader Stoick (voiced by Gerard Butler) tries to protect their village from the invading forces of dragons. While Hiccup yearns to learn how to kill dragons and make his dad proud, Stoick isn't convinced his son is ready for such a task. One day, however, Hiccup brings down the most dreaded of dragons, the Night Fury. But when Hiccup meets the creature, he forms an unlikely friendship and realizes that the dragons are not to be feared but rather befriended. April Schedule After “Dragon,” “Alice in Wonderland” hits the schedule, followed by “The Bounty Hunter,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” and “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.” This schedule should thrill the kids! Let’s just hope it sticks. We could use some continuity at the theatre.
