At its April meeting Friends of the Center Point Library tidyed up plans for a fund raising garden walk on Saturday, June 18.
The willing workers who are kindly inviting the public into their gardens are: Karen/Craig Batcheler, Vern/Carma Almandinger, Teresa/Dan Scheeler, Dennis/Linda Schlicht, Dusty Sylver/Mike LeClere. Nathan Schnell will greet guests at the hosta garden he planted at Fross Park and the Center Point Garden Club butterfly garden there will be featured too.
Friends of the Library will have a donated plant sale at the Fross Park pavilion and will serve free refreshments there and draw for door prizes.
Friends set garden walk hours from 10 to 2 and the rain date June 25. Tickets will be $7 from Friends members in advance or available at Fross Park the day of the walk.
In other business, Friends also discussed the annual used book sale. It will be a one day sale on Saturday, June 4, from 8:30 to 2:00, in the new Library community room. Prices will be the same as in the past, basically 25 cents for paperbacks and 50 cents for hardcovers.
The next Friends meeting will be Wednesday, May 4, at 6:30 in the new Library! New friends are always welcome.
