For more than a half century, the Vinton Kiwanis Club has been starting the Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. on a Saturday before Easter.

This year, the tradition continues, but in a new location: Kiwanis Park.

There will be, as in years past, separate areas for the different age groups.

"We have moved the Easter egg hunt from its usual location of Riverside park to Kiwanis park at the corner of 13th Street and Hwy 218," said Club President Dan LaGrange. "We hope this move will help with parking as well as highlight Kiwanis park. I know the Vinton Parks and Rec Department has been working to clean the park up after winter and I am sure it will be looking great on Saturday. And we are hopeful the Easter bunny will be available for pictures with your camera. In the event of rain we will move to the skate center."
