Events and Activities : 23rd Annual Christmas Festival in Brandon Events December 4th & 5th

The 23rd Annual Christmas Festical in Brandon will be held December 4th and 5th.

The following activities will be held at the Candy Cane Lane in the Community Center Friday& Saturday, from 5 to 9 p.m.(unless otherwise noted) The Community Center is located at 802 Main Street.

Santa Claus

Santa will be arriving if you would like to have your picture taken from 5:00 - 8:30 p.m., cost is $4.00

Wreath / Gift Basket Auction

Bid on beautiful wreaths or gift baskets donated by local businesses and individuals. Auction ends Saturday at 8:30 p.m.

Raffle

Homemade items made by local craftsmen will be raffled at the event.

Tickets are available 2 for $1

There will also be Black Kettle Popcorn, free hot cocoa, coffee and cookies.

Free wagon rides

Take a trip around Brandon to enjoy the Christmas lights around town.

Tree decorating contest

Decorate a tree. Winners determined by viewers’ votes.

Gingerbread House / Object Decorating Contest

This is a new event. The object can be from either a kit or homemade.

Each category will be broken down according to age. Viewers will decide the winners.

Please construct your project on a board strong enough to transport to the Community Center. Contact Denise at 319-474-2387 for more information.

Lighting Contest

Vote for your favorite town display at Candy Cane Lane by house number or name.

Community Giving Tree

Pick a child’s envelope from the tree at Methodist Church and make a local child’s Christmas merrier. To confidentially add a child’s name to the tree, contact Denise at 319-474-2387.

Historical Society Soup Supper at Brandon Methodist Church (507 Main Street)

4:30-8:00 p.m.

Soup and sandwiches. Freewill donation. Free hot cocoa, coffee and cookies.

Saturday Events

Kids Shopping Days at Jefferson Township Hall (Main Street 6) (across from the Post Office).

10 a.m. to 1 p.m Children may shop for parents, grandparents, teachers, siblings, etc. All gifts are $5 and under. Volunteers help each child shop and gifts are wrapped.

1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Open Shopping for All at Jefferson Township Hall
