Events and Activities : Birthday party for Emma Redlinger, Aug. 4, at Celebration Park

Emma Redlinger would have celebrated her 15th birthday on Tuesday, Aug. 4. To celebrate her life, her family is organizing a "Happy Birthday Emma Grace" party at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Celebration Park in Vinton.

"It's going to be big," says Emma's mom, Aimee.

At least 20 miniature hot air lanterns will be lit and released in Emma's memory. Zachary Freedom will sing, and there will be a video memorial, bracelets, cupcakes and more.

Since Emma loved animals and frequently brought home strays, participants will have an opportunity to make donations to FOTSI (Friends of the Shelter, Inc.), for the care of local stray animals. Volunteers will accept donations of cash, tet food, treats, litter, disinfectant wipes, etc.

"Emma rescued and helped many strays over the years," says Aimee.
