Don’t forget to click on “Follow Us” to receive the daily email. Not only will it alert you to what’s new, it’s also the fastest way we have to communicate vital news.
So with the first steps behind us, what’s next?
We’re inviting all interested members of the community to the first “Vinton Today” community event at 6:30 PM, Thursday, March 25th, at the community room of US Bank. The meeting will focus on our goals and allow substantial time for you to share what you would like to see from us. The vision we have for Vinton Today is of a not-for-profit, web-based community news source offering fast, complete coverage of local events. But we need you to make that happen. We’re counting on you to pick up your cameras and jot a few notes, emailing both to us for posting on the site. We’re hoping you contribute the important events in your life, birthdays, big fish, anniversaries, and whatever else makes your life fun and interesting.
We’re also aiming to strengthen our community groups. What’s the program at the Lion’s Club this week and is it true that the Kiwanian’s always have better speakers? What’s going on at your church, in your school, and inside the many organizations in the community that make all our lives better? Why not share with the entire community so we can remain informed and supportive? Go ahead, brag a little! There’s a lot to be proud of and we want to help you share it.
Creating Vinton Today is just the beginning. Keeping it vibrant and constantly improving will be a substantial challenge requiring many contributions of time and talent. So join us on the 25th and bring your questions, your ideas, and a willingness to roll-up your sleeves to make Vinton Today the best it can be.
