Special thanks to the ladies who serve on the Women, Land, and Legacy Local Team: Rebecca Hosek, Julia Babinat, Margaret Babinat, Glenda Devick, Georgette Edel, Jan Wobeter and Melody Bro.

In recent years, women’s roles in Iowa agriculture have changed dramatically. It has become more and more evident there is a need to reach out to women at the local level and to help them make connections they may find helpful as landowners, farmers, and other important role-players in our state’s largest industry.

In response to this increasing need, the USDA State Outreach Council has designed the grassroots program Women, Land & Legacy. It is currently active in over 20 Iowa counties and brings together Iowan women interested in agriculture, local food and natural resources to converse, listen and become empowered to act on their landscape and in their communities.

Persons needing accommodations to participate in this event should contact Anna Boecker at 641/484-2701, ext. 2, TDD# or Federal Relay Service at 1-800-877-8339, or anna.boecker@ia.usda.gov by April 3. USDA is an equal opportunity employer and provider. USDA and Extension programs are available to all without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, or disability.
