Events and Activities : Hypnotist to perform at fund-raising event for Brandon playground

The Brandon Area Community Club (BACC) will be hosting Hypnotist William Mitchell on Saturday, February 21st, at the Brandon Area Community Center, and the public is invited to attend! William Mitchell is a practicing clinical hypnotist and a certified hypnosis instructor, who has been performing comedy stage hypnosis shows for over 12 years. His hour and a half long show will be sure to delight, as audience members become the stars of the show! All profits from the show will go to benefit the BACC Playground Committee as they work to build new playground equipment at the Brandon City Park. The group started fundraising in August 2014, with a goal of raising $40,000 to purchase and install a modern playground structure to replace the current equipment that was built over 25 years ago. They have held several fundraisers to date, including craft sales, raffles, and a bags and bingo tournament. Through generous private donations and participation at the events, the group is close to 1/4 of the way to their fundraising goal. The project has also received a grant from Bank Iowa, for up to $2,500, so proceeds from the hypnotist show and any donations until June 1st, will be generously matched by Bank Iowa. Doors will open at 7:00 pm on Saturday, February 21st for the 8:00 pm show. The night of laughter will be appropriate for all adults, but you must be 18 to attend. Tickets are $12 each, and you can reserve a table for your group if you purchase 9 tickets. Pop and water will be available for purchase at the show, and there will be free popcorn.
